people on the right side of the railroad tracks get free po boxes to 'save the usps money'... people on the WRONG side of the tracks do not, 80 dollars per year and we can count on it being boosted on EVERY renewal. Everyone should pay the SAME po box fees, or everyone should get 'free boxes'... I remind the USPS they are not selling us our products and mail, THE POSTAGE AND SHIPPING IS PREPAID... SO WHY ARE WE, THE RURAL CLIENTS, EXPECTED TO PAY AN EXTRA FEE NOT REQUIRED OF OTHERS IN TOWN?
I had email confirmation from USPS tracking that a package arrived at the post office in NIland on Oct. 30th... on November 10 I finally got a ride to town (am elderly can't hike any more) and clerk claimed I had NO package, insisted I provide a 'tracking number' (like that would find the package for her instead of her doing her job and finding it) and she refused service and delivery based on my lack of a tracking number. Ille i.e. unlawful detainer of private property. I.e. interference with delivery of US mail. All this and ever increasing PO Box fee costs!!!s
I forgot about the missing package for a few days, and then found it suddenly in my PO BOx, WITH APPARENT FOOTPRINTS AND DIRT ALL OVER IT... PLUS APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE TO RECEIVE PACKAGES THAT HAVE BEEN OPENED AND THE CONTENTS MISSING... THIS PLACE IS NOT A TRAIN WRECK, BUT SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE IT COULD BENEFIT FROM ONE, IT IS RIGHT CLOSE TO THE TRACKS...

Niland US Post Office burned down February of 2022. All mail are being rerouted to Calipatia, California, 10 miles south on old highway 111.

I'm missing several pieces of my mail. The post woman is rude when I tried to explain my situation to her she started talking down to me and explaining everything slower. She recognized my name but didn't know where my packages were or where they were going. I had a package delivered the day before and she said there was no package but earlier said that they just send it back wrong address. What?! You mean to tell me it's not gonna stay in the office for a day because the proper label had to be made to send it back! Hog wash!
