I was given Koch HVAC reference through a family friend. Looked at Yelp and all positive reviews. I needed to have blower motor looked at as a previous HVAC company had stated needed to be replaced. NEST thermostat would say no power and no air circulation was occurring. Mr Koch came out charged me a diagnostic fee, he stated blower motor was actually fine. He mentioned there was a lot of static pressure in the system and noted a kinked duct, appx $900 repair and  that repair still may not fix problem entirely. I paid the $900, and error came back as he was leaving. He left a quote for more work that did not include blower motor, but instead adding more duct and dampeners cost appx $1000.I called one more HVAC company Proflo and technician replaced motor and system was now kicking on and running fine with exception that my second zone when called to run would cause system  to stop, only allowing one zone to work.I personally went into my attic with no HVAC experience and found damper motor for zone was dead and damper was forced closed, and also poorly installed. Paid to have damper replaced and HVAC is at 100%My concern is I called Mr Koch and let him know his diagnostics were off. Mr Koch is a nice gentleman and professional. I only think he over charged to diagnose a problem that in no way fixed problem, and he recommended equipment I didn't need. Also, overcharged on replacement of about 8' of duct. I also notice when he replies to comments on Yelp he defends his point of view to the problem. On this particular system he was wrong and I am out $1000+ dollars. I don't think Mr Koch is dishonest but getting another opinion by a Carrier certified repair company saved me time and money.

Koch Heating & Air is a family business we have used for decades because Rick is that good! He knows his stuff. The fan on our condenser unit (outside) wasn't spinning. Google & I correctly diagnosed it as needing a capacitor, but best to have a pro do the work. Rick saw that the capacitor was slightly bulging, but tested it to make sure that was the problem. He fixed in in short order and the service charge was very reasonable for a quality, professional repair. I highly recommend calling Rick Koch for your HVAC needs! Service: Repair HVAC
