Vagabond Inn Monterey

A filthy room with no customer service from their staff. The room was filthy, found blood on the wall, stained and yellowed sheets and mattress and when i called the front desk to remedy the issue was told "i dont have time for this right now; contact Expedia." This hotel is not worth the time, money or frustrations.

The room itself wasn't bad. The "breakfast" was really only shrink-wrapped products, granola bars, a little fruit, coffee that was watered down and cold, and Sunny D from the small fridge. My biggest issue is with the integrity of the service. We were charged $30 for towel damage 3 days after our stay. I called and was told this would be reviewed with the manager and that I would be called back. I never received a call back. I initiated a call back myself and was told that the $30 was being credited to my account, he waited while I checked my credit card statement transactions online, he was surprised the credit hadn't posted, and he said to wait a little longer. I called back 5 days later when no $30 credit had posted, I was told I would be called back, and I never was. A week later I called back and talked with someone different who said the word of the employee I was working with would not be honored and that I would not be getting the $30 credited back. The $30 charge for towel damage from being very dirty after hiking in the Sierras -- maybe, maybe not. Multiple un-returned calls and promising to credit back the $30 charge and then later backing down on that promise? Inexcusable.
