Lousy way to run a business

John and his installer did amazing work!! Had a lattice patio cover installed and was in constant communication from the estimate to the work permit till final installation. Truly could not be more pleased with the cover.

My name is Joe; I’m a retired state worker. I worked in construction in the bay area for over 22 years for the State of California. So I know my way around tools/building etc. I had a patio covers installed at my home in Modesto, CA by John Ian Patio Covers. First off, let me start off by saying, in the beginning I would have rather installed the cover myself, but at 62 years young, the wife had other ideas. So we got online and began our search for a contractor that offered such service. After searching for about a month, I was ready to give up! We had three contactors from the area come out and give us a bid. Two of them spoke badly of the other companies in the area, and let’s just say I wouldn’t have trusted some of these guys that came out to take out my trash! I was astonished by the unprofessionalism of some of these companies. They talked so much crap about every other company in the area and they pushed pretty hard to get my business. First off, I worked in the construction business for a long time and I have never seen such poor salesmanship. I would never purchase from a company that felt the need to denounce other companies. That’s not a way to go about business! Just horrible! So the last call we made was to John Ian Patio Covers. I was done with my search, but the wife had already setup an estimate, so we went ahead and had them stop by. But at this point with the folks we already had out, I did not want to continue my search for a patio cover. A young gentleman came out (the owner) and to honest I was skeptical, because of the experience I had with the other contractors we had out. I asked that young man all the questions in the book! He was very honest and knew exactly what he was talking about. He went over all our options and we had zero pressure from him to purchase. I even asked him what he thought about the other companies in the area, just for the sake of, to see what I was dealing with, and he said and I quote “The companies in the area have been around for a long time, I’ve even worked for a couple of them in the past and I’m sure they all do great work.” End of quote. I was astonished! Instead of talking trash like the other guys, he had nothing bad to say about the other companies in the area. He was the youngest guy I had out, but he was the most mature! After some thought, we felt confident in this company and entered into a contract for a patio cover. Everything that had been expressed to us happened like clockwork. From the estimated install date to the completion date. Again, I’m retired so I sat in my lawn chair and observed the whole time! The two gentlemen worked absolutely great together. They laser leveled everything and made it look so easy! So glad we found these guys! Bravo! Thanks a bunch John Ian Patio Covers.

We hired John Ian to install a 24 ft by 10 ft patio cover for my parents home last summer and he exceeded our expectations. The price was very reasonable and the workmanship was excellent from beginning to end. What a beautiful cover they installed! We absolutely love it! And they also installed the electrical and a beautiful fan. We could not be more happy with John, his crew and his integrity. If only all businesses were conducted like this one it would be fantastic!
