Dr Ballinger is an extremely skilled psychiatrist. I came to her in the depths of a bipolar depression with multiple suicide attempts.  She saved me.She has an in depth knowledge of different psychiatric conditions--from bipolar disorder, to depression, to schizophrenia--and is able to convey to the patient both expertise and reassurance.  She is extremely empathetic, has a great understanding of what you are trying to communicate, and also offers compassionate wisdom.  Yet, she never lets you off the hook and makes you work for your own insights into your behavior and your emotions.  She also is a wiz at working with you to find the right medications appropriate to your condition, or difficulties.  I have been seeing her, at first intensely, and now occasionally for check-in appointments to make certain my med levels are in tune, for over seventeen years.  I wouldn't keep coming back if she were not great!  I consider her to be my greatest healer.  I am certain that she is equally gifted with shorter term therapies.
