He has had this scooter for almost 1 yr. The batteries went dead and would not charge. We took the batteries down to see what could be done. He told us that this was an older scooter than what he carries now. He stated that the warranty had expired and the batteries were no good any more. He wanted to charge my dad $25 to plug our battery into his electrical outlet using our charger so he could confirm that yes the batteries were not charging. He said "normally I will take them into the back and do this then charge the customer for diagnosis of the battery". He acted like it was our fault the battery was dead. He then quoted $120 for the batteries and an additional $25 to install. TALK ABOUT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The owner was very rude to my 75 yr. old father and acted like we were bothering or interrupting him.
We left and I called 3 battery suppliers in the area. I explained my concerns and got quotes. 2 of these vendors expressed that they no longer sell to this guy because of his ethics. So I ordered 2 batteries and had them delivered and installed for $88.00
At this time we were told that the dead batteries in the scooter were 2 years old. This was a little confusing cause the scooter was purchased 10 months ago. This guy is SCAMMING.
So he discounts the scooter but puts older batteries in the battery case. So when you go back to him he sells you new batteries and acts like you did something wrong by not maintaining the batteries. My dad said he did not explain anything to him really once the sale was transacted.
I am writing this review so other eldery Sun City citizens will be aware before they buy from this store. CHECK THE DATES ON YOUR BATTERIES AT TIME OF PURCHASE.
Maybe have them log the date on your paperwork when you buy. This guy was caught on this. Which makes me believe that there is more to it that maybe he has not been caught on
