This is a vegan pop up that is a pretty small operation that I've had my eye on for ages, hoping that my busy work schedule would align with theirs so my family and I could try the mouth watering dim sum that I'd been stalking on IG. I was SO excited to have the opportunity to finally try Inomoni's vegan dim sum after I started working from home. Like most, Chef Moni had to close up temporarily during the peak of COVID but she then started offering frozen dumplings with delivery. Ordering was straightforward and the delivery coordination was personal and friendly- hand delivered! We got the Hargow and Siu Mai for my mother's day feast. We steam dumplings at home a lot, so we found the instructions easy and the results did not disappoint! Even my toddler wanted some, which is sayin something. More recently we ordered vegan sushi bentos during Inomoni's pop up via Soul Delicious, which was a fun twist on her usual offerings. The ordering again was straightforward and I also liked the pick up notification process. They were very helpful in directing me to parking via text when I had to wait a bit. We also got the puff pastry- the filling was so flavorful and my husband couldn't believe how flaky the pastry was and still vegan (he's the baker in the house!). We definitely will be ordering more of those. My husband also got the Lo Mai Gai and he said it was just like he remembers. I especially love how Chef Moni collaborates with other small businesses in the area, which has introduced me to lots of other cool spots and tasty drinks that I wouldn't have otherwise found. I am just so thrilled to finally have a vegan dim sum option for my husband and I to enjoy, since we love going for yum cha but have such a hard time finding reliable, diverse options, even here in LA. We finally have something that tops the Buddhist yum cha in Queens that we used to frequent when we were back in NY. I can't wait to see Inomoni grow!

Fresh dimsum available 1st and 3rd Fridays at Annie's Soul Food Eatery, with plans to serve fresh dimsum in the El Sereno area soon. I've posted on Yelp before but really want to support this small business because the food is absolutely delicious and the chef literally spends countless hours (usually by herself) making her food with love. My favorites: 1. Lo Mai Gai - sticky rice in lotus leaves This is my favorite dish of all time that even I make on my own, and Chef Moni has PERFECTED THE FLAVOR AND TEXTURE. I love it when the rice is flavorful and if I could only eat this for the rest of my life I would. I tried this at her most recent popup and it was even better than when I first ordered in October of 2019. 2. Siu Mai - I bet this is everyone's favorite and for good reason. Just try it and thank Chef Moni later. 3. Bbq pork puff- the pastry is so crispy I was shocked I was eating a vegan dish. Even better than the first time I tried in 2019. Again, my non-vegan friends were amazed. 4. Egg less tart , now in original, ube, and matcha I can tell Moni is constantly listening to feedback and improving her recipes because the tart was crispy and delicious. Tastes just like the non vegan originals, but better because of the delicious flavors. I will try matcha next time! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, and if she still has the bento boxes available, definitely order it! Because this is an extremely small business without it's own storefront or kitchen, don't be surprised or angry if it might take a while to get your food. I waited quite a while in my car because it was an especially busy day, and despite it all, the food was absolutely delicious and I will still come back for more. Definitely try to be accommodating because she is basically a one woman show and doesn't have all the resources to churn out food like a supply line with dirt cheap prices. Chef Moni is super busy and puts her heart and soul into the work. If you follow inomoni's instagram you will see all the behind the scenes, and all the work she puts in. Sending love and hope Inomoni continues to thrive and expand!
