The owner is super friendly. I had bowling ball back that needed a rivet replaced. Brought the bag in and he took care of it in minutes. No charge. Great to have a local small business like this in the neighborhood.

We found George's Shoe Comfort and Repair via word of mouth recommendation on Facebook ("George does magic with leather"), and we are so pleased to have met George! The shop is located in a small complex with its own parking lot, so it is easy to spot, and there's a sign on the sidewalk beckoning you in. The sign and shop sign advertises shoe repair, knife sharpening, watch battery replacements, and more. George gives us his thoughts on the repairs we brought to him (water stain on leather bag, sharpening a bread knife, replacement for a carry-on luggage handle, replacement for watch battery) and we really appreciated that he was very honest with us, noting which items we could likely do ourselves, or suggestions on how to fix something that seemed beyond fixing, or being upfront of the likely costs on when he agrees to take on a project. He's been in the Eagle Rock area for 42 years and was happy to hear that we had come to visit him after someone in the neighborhood spoke well of him - and deservingly so! He gives you a pickup ticket to claim your items once done. Easy and straightforward, and really made us feel like he's happy to know us and fix whatever we bring him. Great!
