Western Smoke House

I just moved to LA from NYC and New York has recently boomed in terms of BBQ joints. So, I'm no Kansas City or Carolina BBQ connesour, but I've had some decent Q in my time. That being said, the smoked beef brisket at WSH is THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD. Seriously. Its. That. Good. I also tried their pulled pork, potato salad, cole slaw, all types of cornbread and their watermelon lemoade. Thier pulled pork was pretty good, top 5 for sure, and the watermelon lemonade was amazing. The cornbreads all had good intentions, but tasted a bit off, as though an ingrediant was missing or over added. All in all, you can't go wrong in LA if you're up for some BBQ!

Food is pretty solid, but the service (even for a takeout place) is rude and slow.

So sad this place is not consistent. We were so looking fwd to eat here and it wasn't as good. The lemonade is really good, so is mac & cheese, but we came for the fried chicken and corn bread. For the fried chicken the seasoning wasn't as strong or flavorful. It tasted REALLY bland. We got a whole chicken, but had 10 pieces vs 8. Even last time I got 1/2 chicken but got like 5 pieces. The mashed potatoes are fine/nothing special, no gravy comes with it. The cornbread is good, but did not come with the jalapeno jelly she gave us last time and we were too scared to ask. She was also very mean/rude when we were ordering, but super sweet when left. We were the only ones eating there, but a few to go/delivery orders. Not sure I wanna comeback if inconsistent. Disappointed.
