This is a classic Jewish deli. It looks like a deli, smells like a deli, feels like a deli, and yes, tastes like a deli. There were three of us, and despite its unnecessarily large menu (as most delis have) we all ordered the Pastrami Reuben. It didn't come with thousand island, but we soon corrected that and we were off to the races. Everything was greasy, meaty and really filled you up . The fries were ok, a bit limp for my taste, and the fruit bowl was also exactly what you'd expect. No surprises and no let-downs. The service was very friendly!

I go here when I'm hungry for a classic pancake/french toast breakfast for under $10. This downtown location offers many hearty breakfast options including steak and eggs and omelets. Because there are so many restaurants in the area, this place is never crowded and it's usually a good breakfast pick up before work.

Seriously now. Seriously, lets put this to bed already. Is it pronounced "York-Sher" or "York-Sh-i-er" like "The Shire" in Lord of the Rings?!?! Because the technical reading of it should be like how "The Shire" is read in Lord of the Rings where the "i" is pronounced as how it's read because you have an "e" at the end of the word. For instance, "Wilshire", yes the street. Technically it should be pronounced "Wil-Sh-i-er" right? You can ask anyone from out of town who has never seen the street before, they will always call it that. I think it's an LA thing to come up with their own pronunciations of whatever words they want. What say you?! Whew, now back to the review. This place is pretty disgusting (not the food, just the location). Better rent a haz-mat suit to come here so you don't have to touch the 1921 sticky seats and tables. I had to take a shower after I left because I felt so nasty. Example...take a look at the mirror hanging in the back right. How does a mirror that no one can touch even get that dirty?!
