Mark Maimon and team have been excellent from the very first phone call until the very end when it came down to the wire to close the deal. The team was always responsive, reassuring and the product offering was very competitive as well. Other lenders tried to match the rate at the very end and I simply ended up sticking with Freedom Mortgage due to the overall positive experience.

I've worked w/ Mark Maimon and his team on multiple occasions and also recommended he and his team to friends and neighbors. They are knowledgeable, communicate well, and made the process of financing a home seamless. I'm appreciative of their work.

Update 2: I find their marketing team or aspect to be pretty tone-deaf. I was clearly unhappy with their services, but I keep getting automated emails asking about me referring them to others. It really encourages me to continue to speak out on how incompetent their services are and how I do not recommend that you trust them with major things in your life such as mortgage or any financial needs. Update: Apparently even after the close of my loan they continue to request documents without context and in cryptic ways to both my title and other folks who then have to come to me. It's pretty disorganized of a financial institution to not know what they need or explain why they need something. Still definitely a hard pass especially working with Mark Maimon and his team that partner with compass real estate. I think honestly this company has some questionable moral values and don't care much that you are not a file with some numbers but you have a life, and having a home or financing into a house with contractual obligations actually means something to your life. I went with them based on their partnership with Compass to finance my primary home and they have literally made a huge mess of things. For starters, the could not close on time, despite having had many days to object to any contractual dates written, despite that it started off well with their weekly updates (they only sent 2), they went radio silent on any actual commitments on timelines for over 3 weeks. In the meantime, while most mortgage companies will ask you for the entire set of documentation up front, they kept coming back week after week to ask for additional documentation, assuring me that it would be the last ask, only to find out there was more. They even penalized me for being financially responsible by paying my taxes on time because I had more paperwork to show, and requested additional documentation on how I paid my taxes even as the IRS had accepted my return & payments. The bottom line is, when you need someone to have a smooth transaction, look elsewhere. When you want a 'team' of people helping you, these are not the people you are looking for, when your whole life hangs in the balance of when you will move, when you will close, what contractual obligations in the end YOU are legally liable, they will not be there for you. They won't return your calls, your emails, or your text messages unless you escalate all the way up to their VP and C-levels. They are constantly telling you they are 'doing the best they can' without giving you any timelines. I don't understand how this financial institution does business because even Best Buy has timelines for things like delivery. They do a lot of back end communications as well, I found out that while they won't return my calls or emails or texts, they talk amongst themselves and to my realtor without providing any updates to me. When they did finally respond to my realtor, they said the same thing to him. Their lack of transparency in how the process works is infuriating. I cannot tell you enough how much you need to stay away. And if this is just trying to finance a purchase (pretty straight forward), can you imagine if you tried to refi? Or tried to get them to stop calling you? Or marketing to you? Or trying to get some information from them? I've never had a worse financial experience in my life, I've worked with Chase, Wells Fargo, First Republic, even Bank of America for various financing needs in my life and they are literally the worst. Don't trust them with anything.
