        I lived up there in the late sixties, in the multi-level white Art Deco. building just to the right at the top of the elevator landing. The neighborhood was magic, nothing had changed since the 30s. No automobiles, but narrow paths leading to houses, half-hidden by vegetation and decades of peaceful isolation. I knew then that I was in a special place; and the feeling has only grown over the years. I live in Paris now, but have never forgotten the gift of living there.
