I found this restaurant to be a great choice to go out on a date. They have a beautifully lit patio where the noise level is just right for good conversation. The food is also excellent and they have a speak easy bar area where you can mingle, drink and dine as well.

Love this place. Great environment. Menu items are delicious. Decent beer selection, small as it is. During long summer days it's bright and open in the sunroom-like extension. I only wish they'd open earlier for lunch or mid-afternoon happyhour, but unless they've changed hires recently, they don't open until 6 or 6:30pm and are closed Sundays and Mondays. They also rent out the whole restaurant for private functions and will be closed to the public during these events. One of my favorite hidden Hollywood treasures. It gets rocking after 11pm with DJ, dancing. Live music in the early evening during happyhour and dinner, at least on the days I've been there. I'll get more details at my next visit there and revise this where needed.

The patio does the best of the outdoor-indoor Los Angeles weather thing. And it's gorgeous. But it's a 5-star venue with really mediocre and therefore overpriced food. Come for a drink or two one afternoon, but perhaps don't stay for dinner.
