He knew my baby shouldve been a c-section and because insurance companies were frowning on cs at the time, 1996, he opted to let me go 10 days late and deliver a 10.2 baby posterior. She was delivered after 24 hours, 2 doses of Pitocin and 3 epidurals later, I delivered after the epidural wore off at 8 centimeters. She was paralyzed and had what they called erbs palsy or brachial plexus injury. Shes 27 years old now and still has trouble washing her hair, among other things but especially severe nerve pain.
After I went back to work, I met another mother who had the same experience with this doctor. I wanted to sue but because of the medical malpractice limits in California at the time, it wasnt worth it. Doctors at Cedar Sinai found liability on behalf of the doctors involved.
