Our Lady of Refuge

This is a beautiful sun dappled & peaceful spot nestled among the center of the towering Coastal Redwoods . It would be hard not to feel close to The Holy Spirit in such a place. Hawks circling in the sky calling to eachother, California wildflowers scattered about the fields , a luscious rose sgarden, trails leading in every direction into the cool shadows of the forest. This truly is a place of refuge . The church is simple & unpretentious and seems more Lutheran in appearance & design. The priest hails from Africa & is a wonderful kind soul with a smile & kind word for everyone. He is easily approachable & extremely well educated & can converse on just about any existing subject . The staff volunteer their time on Sundays distributing food to some of us less fortunate in such a Remote area on behalf of the amazing organization St. Vincent de Paul's. If you are seeking solace and or prayer in a safe peaceful warm & welcoming environment, immersed in nature .. This is the place for you. I find my mind and soul smoothing like calm gentle waters there when i Feel turbulent & lost inside i really can ground & centre there . Worth visiting even if your not there for Mass . Bring a camera because you really won't want to soon forget this place once you have visited it. AMEN
