        I've been with this office for 7 years! Never had to use them or been in any accidents. Got my renewal notice today and my cost is going up almost 200 DOLLARS per year, for the exact same coverage! Absolutely absurd, that's what I get for being a good driver and a loyal customer. Needless to say, I will NOT be renewing.

Yes, tickets and accidents can be expensive even with low payout in CA because you lose your driving discounts due to getting 1 or more points and get a surcharge based on the DMV classification. There is no secret in insurance, to get a lower price, carriers put more exclusions in their policy and make the customer do the service work themselves without advice to help. Therefore you most likely lost coverage by policy language going to another carrier to make this cheaper. Insurance is like everything in like, you get what you pay for. Sorry you have something on your record that makes your insurance go up.
