Islands Restaurant The Market Place, Irvine

First time dining here, Monday evening, place was not too busy. We sat at the bar. Tons of tv's. Took a moment to get drink orders in and delivered. We ordered the burgers, not many options outside of that or their take on some " Mexican " dish. The onion rings were dark brown and extremely crunchy and tasted old. Our burgers were bland w no flavor to them at all. We both had the Longboarders'. I equate this to no more than your average bar food w a fancy bow on it. 2 mixed drinks w 2 burgers w tip was 71 dollars. Definitely not worth what was spent and received.

Some of the worst food and management you'll encounter. Basically over glorified McDonalds burgers and are never good.

Came with my family on a Saturday afternoon. Although very busy, the staff was great and professional. Sat on the first table to the entrance. Our server Mikey stood out the most. Greeted us right away with a great smile and willingness to provide great service. He got our order, delivered our food, checked up on us constantly and was just a great guy. Very rare to find such good classic service with such a willingness to take care of his customers. He had a genuine smile and you knew he really cared about us and all his other customers. Don't lose this guy because he is the only reason we will come back. Now, In regards to the actual food. I ordered the basic burger and it was a little dry and kinda of disappointed that the meat was a little bit slimmer than the past. I get the shrinkflation thing but for $15. bucks kinda was a little upset. But again, Mikey made up for it, and will come back again for sure.
