I spent 3 happy years here! Great staff, wonderful creative, talented, quirky teachers students and artists in residence are all pushing their artistic boundaries in fun and supportive classes and individual study sessions. All forms of sculpture happen here from stone to clay to plaster and mixed media, even soft sculpture. Its a welcoming fun and inspiring place to be, and I do miss it after moving out of the state last year!

I have been an amateur artist since I was a teen working in a number of different mediums ranging from oil paints, acrylics, and decorative porcelain painting. In 2006 I felt as if I had finally found my artistic medium working on the potter’s wheel. The fluidity of shaping the clay, and the complete use of my hands made me feel as though it was the complete artistic experience for me, however, something was still missing. I originally came into Teale Street Studio on November 2013 due to work-related reasons; I was looking for new activities for my boss that had recently retired. Sculpture was never a work that I could think that I would be good on. So when I was invited by the Teale Street Studio’s staff to try to sculpt, I didn’t feel as if I would be able to, but… When I first walked into Teale Street Sculpture studio I felt embraced by the artistic space and presence. I was overtaken by the numerous art pieces around the room and the high friendly positive energy coming from the artists working there. Something in that place made me feel so welcome and included within the atmosphere that I began to feel like I belonged in there. For me Teale Street Studio is an artistic, personal and inclusive space that really allowed me to be within the creative mindset. Thank you to everyone on Teale Street Studio.
