l can't say enough about Sylvester and his crew. Service, professionalism, workmanship was all there and pronounced, it's easy to see they take pride in their work. Everyone was well behaved too, which isn't always the truth with trade crews lol. But I really appreciate Sylvester lifting this burden from our shoulders so we could concentrate on other transactions demanding our attention. And, i just realized I didn't mention punctual, but they were indeed. They completed the roof (with the dry rot repairs) in the exact number of days he estimated. They began work every day precisely on time, and left the property as they found it, too. Remarkable, as I didn't know they still had businesses that deserve a great reputation!

If you are considering a new roof, you must consider Matlock Roofing. Our end to end experience with Matlock was one of the best in our 40 years of employing area contractors. From Janet taking care of the permit process to the last shingle nailed, we could not have been more pleased. If our 100 year old cabin having 4 layers of old roofing with multiple peak & shed elevations wasn't difficult enough, add in 100 stairs getting to it and you have one challenging roof job. Silvester and the amazing Matlock crew handled it all like bosses and we could not be more impressed with the results. The crew arrived at the same time each day. The material removal and delivery logistics were right on target. The attention to detail, craftsmanship and pride of work was evident throughout the week. They went above and beyond, fixing areas we didn't know needed attention and even painting the vent pipes to match the roof. The crew went out of their way, leaving each day with the property clean and neat. We really appreciated the overall professionalism. Silvester was a joy to work with. This man knows his roofing and how to satisfy customers. He and Chuy kept us fully informed at all times and met every expectation set. We ended up having a large amount of additional T&M, re-sheathing nearly 70% of the roof. The extra cost incurred was very reasonable for the amount of material and labor involved. We now have a safe, waterproof and fully vented roof that will last for the rest of our lives. Thank you to everyone at Matlock Roofing!

Sylvester demonstrated daily the professionalism, punctuality, craftsmanship, and mindfulness that one looks for in the trades.  He ran a tight ship, yet he is very pleasant to be around.  The whole crew was well behaved--not something you can always count on with construction crews (as I know from being on one a time or two).  As one who has some experience in construction, I was absolutely impressed as to the workmanship and value that Sylvester delivered...  And, he did so in the number of days he estimated before commencing.  When we thought we had some trouble, Sylvester was responsive and lifted it right off our shoulders.  If I were running a business, I would certainly be tempted to poach him...  Again, deserving every bit of this 5 star review.  Thanks again to all you guys!  I almost forgot to mention the most important part to most people; the money.  I can tell you the bid was better than reasonable, and there wasn't a bunch of add-ons, and the T & M bill was more than fair; so, please add the term Value to this review, and another to tie them together...  Integrity!  [Will update w/ photos soon]

Overall not happy with the product. Challenges were: 1. Side gutter was attached to the neighbors fence. They came out and cut off the gutter and used a gutter hose to get reach the ground. 2. Cut 1 1/2 inch eave vent holes, smallest we can find are 2 inch vents. One board cracked when drilling the holes. Were told whoever paints the house can fix it. Our painter will replace the eave panels and drill 2 inch holes and charge us by the hour. 3. Eave on the back side of the house was removed by us, which showed we needed the new roof. They told us we had to replace the boards ourselves, not part of their quote (we pointed it out to them when they looked at the roof) and wouldn't give a new quote. We have the panels, just need them cut and nailed under the eave. Our painter will do the job and charge us by the hour. 4. We asked for a red roof, they said no problem. Ended up with a sort of brownish red roof. Our fault, we should have asked for shingle samples. 5. A vent pipe got disconnected while they were installing the flashing on top of the roof. They taped the pipe together, said we needed to have a new pipe cut. Painter will see if he can do the repair and charge us by the hour. Installation was quick and they replaced a lot of old wood. Did a great job cleaning up each day. Only found a few roofing nails in the driveway, fortunately not with the vehicle tire. :-) So far, no rain since the installation. When we get a good, we'll know exactly how good the job was. Not worried about this though, looks well done. Unfortunately, it is difficult to get pictures of the roof. I don't have a drone and can't get an angle that looks good. Services: Gutter installation, Roof installation
