image I would NOT recommend DrRodman to anyone. He did me wrong ! After going to him for a long time for bi annual cleaning and x-ray etc. I trusted him to be a good and honest dentist. I'll explain: He replaced a cracked (front) tooth with a temporary plastic tooth until the arrival of a permanent porcelain replacement and, several days later that was done & it cost $1500.00. About 6 months later that "permanent porcelain" popped out; tried to reach out to Dr Rodman but he was vacationing in Hawaii. In desperation I  reached out to my husband's dentist for care.  New dentist had to inform me that sadly, my "permanent porcelain" was plastic and probably the original temporary plastic !!!

image I would not reccomend this dentist..He had my husband come numerous times for a crown which he made that continued to fall off. Each time we were charged. Upon seeing another dentist we realized the tooth needed to be built up with a post prior to the crown. So it was a waste of time and money. The margins on my crown ( which he did,,,) are not acceptable. He would be ok for a simple cavity I suppose, but I cannot reccomend him as almost every bit of work done by him had to be redone sadly.

image I should start by saying that before I moved to the Central Coast, my family and I were patients of the same dentist for over 20 years. I am very sensitive and have very high standards due to some dental issues I have dealt in the past with as well as surgeries. Because I have had a hand full of root canals and crowns, many, many fillings and am highly sensitive to metals and many medications, I was nervous about going to a new dentist after all these years, but thankfully I recently found Dr. Rodman.       Dr. Rodman met me at his front desk with a soothing voice and gentle demeanor. The first thing he asked me was what my time frame looked like so that he could prioritize his time with me. I was so grateful for that, as I was a little stressed because I needed to be in a different city 90 minutes later to work with some teenagers.      During my exam, Dr. Rodman displayed a genuine degree of professional excellence and conveyed a willingness to help problem solve and prioritize my current dental issues with integrity. He was completely respectful of my thoughts and opinions and was able to skillfully develop a creative solution and a big picture to my challenging problems while taking my end of the year insurance coverage into consideration. Throughout my visit, he stayed with me the entire time, explaining what he was doing and what he was going to do. He shared about some of his hobbies and I shared about mine. He made me feel 100% comfortable. Dr. Rodman seems to be a very dedicated dentist and has decades and decades of experience. The feeling that I got while with him, is that he is genuine, he is considerate, he is generous, and he is a very good dentist. I will definitely be coming back and I have already started recommending my friends to his practice!

image First of all, just so you know, I have good dental insurance, Safeguard, but since my visit with this man, I have changed it as there were only two dentist in this area that were Safeguard providers, this man and another who had horrible reviews. So I went to see this guy based on the one review I could find on him.  The building was nice so I expected the office to be as well but his office was plastered with a lot of religious memorabilia and very cluttered. Not very professional looking and his dental equipment was very old and outdated. But that is not the issue cause I've been in medical facilities that were rundown but at least the doctor knew what they were doing and I felt as if I were getting excellent treatment. I went to the dentist because I had a toothache and I knew I was going to have to have my tooth pulled so I figured it would be a good time to go a head and have all my work done as I was going to need a new partial and my teeth were not in good shape and I knew I needed a deep cleaning.  I have not been to the dentist in quite a few years. So I went in and told him about my toothache and he examined me and said that I would need to have my tooth pulled. So I was fine with that. I also told him that I wanted a new partial and he agreed that I needed a new one and wanted to start the preparation right then. I asked him if we shouldn't take care of my teeth first before starting the partial and he informed me that my teeth were in good shape.  Now this review would be too long if I were to go into detail about my teeth, trust me, they are bad.  Now my insurance covers just about everything 100%. What they don't cover 100% is some of the fancy partials. I explained to him that I just wanted what my insurance paid for but he kept insisting that I get one of the fancy pieces and he kept on and on about it and finally quoted me a price for a upper and lower.  To which I reluctantly agreed.  Well we finished up, he took the mold, upper and lower and off I went.  I returned 3 weeks later to pick them up.  First, he claims I am only getting the upper that the price he quoted was only for that.  So I say fine just give me a bottom that my insurance covers. He did not want to do that. I asked again, he keeps insisting that I get the ones that pay him more money.  I tell him I don't have that kind of cash but he won't listen  says we will do the bottom when I save my money.  Now I'm already feeling uneasy cause I don't think he has properly examined my teeth and now he won't let me get a partial that I want, he charges me $100.00 to fix a cap that kept coming off even though my insurance covered 100% but he tells me this after he is done repairing it, but the final straw was as I was getting ready to leave he tells me, "good news, you'll be eligible for a cleaning in February.  I just look at him and think to myself, buddy your a quack, I haven't had my teeth cleaned in a few years, I'm sure I'm eligible right now".  My insurance covers once a year.  Now this all happened in October.  I don't know about everybody but I hate having these dentist that try to force you to get all these very expensive things done but this guy took the cake. Professing to be Christian like but is really just a hypocrite.  And yes, I will be turning him into the Dental Board, already turned him into my insurance.  Do yourself a favor, stay away.

image My visit with Dr. Rodman was the first time I've had a positive experience going to the dentist.  I take good care of my teeth, but I often feel like dentists find other ways to get my money.  They tell me I need to use a certain brand of electric toothbrush or a new retainer, ask if I want my teeth whitened, or they use new unproven technologies -- one place I visited had an expensive "laser sterilization" procedure which my insurance didn't cover.Dr. Rodman's office felt different from the very beginning.  He greeted me personally at the front desk.  The waiting room was cozy, with nautical decorations on the walls.  When he worked on my teeth, he spoke knowedgeably and unbiasedly (as far as I could tell) about different dental products.  Then he talked knowledgeably about astronomy, which was also cool! The cleaning was great and he was very up-front about all costs.  He even asked if those costs would be within my budget.  I walked out feeling good about a dental visit for the first time.  Highly recommended.
