I called this company on 1/6/2021 and left a message with the receptionist.  She advised someone would give me a call back.  I was contacted the following day 1/7/2021 by Ed McSweeney.  I initially asked him if they were accepting new clients.  He stated that they don't normally accept clients that aren't referrals.  But he told me to proceed with my questions.  I advised him of my tax situation which does have several variables associated with it.  After hearing what my situation was he stated that I could come in and we could discuss further.  I then inquired what their fees were and at that point he told me that I should go somewhere else.  First of all, any business that has information for public view should either state in a website that they only take clients upon referral or after he stated that fact in the beginning of the call he should have ended it there.  Secondly any time you are offering a service it is customary for someone to inquire about the rates.  Now I understand that any quote he would have provided would have been a starting amount and it may have increased from there.  I would caution doing business with anyone that is this unprofessional and rude to a potential client.

After several years of doing Family business and constantly being over charged for the simplest of tasks let along outragious fees for tax prep. I said NO MORE. He recently charged $870.00 for a simple estimate for future taxes after my husband passed away. The information was sent two days late and was not used and still he sent the bill twice.  STAY CLEAR and save your money!! I should of listened to others years ago.

Although Ed was recommended by a friend, after he quoted me $500 to $600 for a relatively uncomplicated tax return, I was charged $897.  When bringing this to his attention, there was no explanation or offer to provide any relief.His answer came across as extremely rude and unprofessional.I cannot recommend him.
