OB/GYN Medical Group of Verdugo Hills

While Dr Nelson is attentive and wonderful, making an appointment or trying to pay a bill is VERY frustrating. An inefficient phone system which starts with a long message, keeps you on hold forever, and when it is seemingly your turn, disconnects or says no one is available. I've had it!

I went to this clinic because I read some good stuff about the doctors there. Well the doctors have been good to me but the service overall has been terrible. I went into this clinic being high risk and since I came in I feel like I was not considered a priority with any calls or communication that I needed. First off I never got to see one specific OB I kept being bounced around from one to another. Then I called concerned one day about bleeding and nobody ever called me back. At my Anatomy Scan that was done in Pasadena they advised me that I should be transferred to a high risk facility where I can be better assisted. Almost a month went by since they started the transfer and I never had any type of communication from this current office or the new one. Almost a month later I called and I had to really pressure them to give me that info and get the ball rolling. That same day the other office called me. I had an appointment with USC in March and they told me to cancel because the other office would be taking over my care so I did just that. When I got to the other doctor they asked me who my regular OB was and I advised them I did not have one because my care had been transferred to this office they stated that the doctors there only do ultrasounds and high risk testing but arent doctors that would deliver my baby. The office there had to now find me a new OB and once they called me they had no appointments until Mid April being high risk I could not go two months without seeing an OB. Currently trying to figure out where to be seen for the month of March since I was advised to cancel my appointment. USC did not get the correct information before transferring my care over. Its literally just been a nightmare the last thing I want to have to deal with being in a high risk pregnancy which is more stress. Just wanted to tell my story for anyone considering coming to this office maybe look someplace else. The standard of care was lacking I expected better having to pay more to come and be seen here.

My appointment was confirmed twice for 9:30 by text, which I accepted. However, when i made the appointment 3 months ago ( because that's how far out Dr Nelson was booking) they apparently told me, VERBALLY, that I needed to be there 30 minutes early to fill out new patient forms. When I arrived for my CONFIRMED 9:30 appointment, the receptionist told me like 5 times (no apology, very insistent) that I was supposed to be there at 9. She said she "would have to check with the doctor", She gave me the new patient forms which took 5 MINUTES to complete. I turned them in. At 9:46 the patient before me left. HOWEVER, the snarky receptionist then told me sorry you have to reschedule since I wasnt there 30 minutes BEFORE my scheduled appointment. The next avail appointment was another 2 MONTHS AWAY. Ridiculous and inefficient office procedures, rude and unaccomodating staff.

I had an appointment today with Dr. Kimeshia Thomas for a new patient visit. I arrived on time and completed all paperwork the day before. Five minutes of me patiently waiting in the waiting room, I was notified by the receptionist that the doctor was called to aid in a delivery. I was asked whether I wanted to wait or re-schedule. Mind you, if took me 2 MONTHS TO GET THIS APPOINTMENT and I drove for about 45 minutes. I decided to wait, and was told she'd be done in 30-45 minutes. I went to the plaza next door to eat and was later called in about 30 minutes by the same receptionist telling me they were going to cancel and reschedule my appointment. Per the receptionist, the doctor had two patients ahead of me and they closed at 4pm today so there was no time to see me. Very unprofessional and disorganized. took the time out of my schedule, drove about an hour to get here just to get cancelled on-site. Very disappointing. Mind you, no one ever called me to reschedule. Only reason I gave them 2 stars was because staff was nice but other than that, not the best. I've had appointments in other specialities at Verdugo Hills and never encountered an issue until today. Waste of my time and day.
