Drove to Garden Grove Toyota Place today after confirming Toyota truck available and $1k off sticker price for weekend deal as mentioned in the internet add. After driving the new car, sat down to review cost. Sales rep was able to take $500 more off sticker price and tried to sell almost $3k worth of catalytic converter insurance and paint insurance and alarm system theft insurance. We declined the optional several times. Then manager came by to say have to buy the optional or will not sell the car as they will loose $! Obviously, was not optional. Very poor communication skills and used false information to try and sell this car bait and switch scenario? Illegal, no?

As others stated their advertisement is false. On Car Gurus they list the car at 20,000, when you get there the car purchase price is 27,000. This was before any of the typical fees, doc fee, tax, etc. Also manager is very rude. They wouldn't give a cash price stating "do you think Toyota needs your cash" . Rude!!!!!

BAIT and Switch Scammers. I spent several hours looking for a specific Tacoma on Toyota's website. I found the exact one I wanted located at Toyota Place in Garden Grove. and got in touch with the Online sales manager Alfonso. I offered to put money down on the truck to hold it as I had a two-hour drive, no matter what I said they would not take the deposit. I also confirmed the web price and confirm the $1000 this weekend only web discount. I arrived drove the Truck and said lets make the deal know that I would pay full price for the truck as they are a premium. I confirmed again the sales price of $1k off was valid and mention about the Vet discount. Then Alfonso H. started selling catalytic theft insurance, paint insurance and Auto theft insurance which he said was optional. We said no thank you to any of the optional items that were close to $3200.00 extra! After several trips and rounds with the sales manager / GM, I was told very rudely by the sales manager that my only option was to take the truck with the options as "they had discounted the truck and still needed to make money." The sales manager tried to use his size and voice to intimidate me, which I found madding and very unprofessional. I left the dealership very upset that kind of dis-honest business practices could still happen. I have bought 7 Toyotas off the lot and have never experience anything of this magnitude.
