Sashimi Express - Fresno

We stopped here for a quick lunch. When we walked in, it smelled like insence, which is incredibly confusing when you're expecting to dine. Eating is a multisensory experience, and it was confusing and weird to smell what smelled like someone's room when we walked in. My suspicion was verified when we heard the staff going on about how excited they were that it smelled like a temple. They discussed the desire to buy more for continued use. I'm not sure the owner is aware, but they should be. It's very intrusive to the dining experience. It also made me weary of the cleanliness of the place, which I questioned upon visual inspection of the space already. I opted not to have sushi and eat a chicken bento box because I felt it was safest in terms of potentially getting sick from this place. It was okay. It was like something I could buy at the market and heat in the microwave at home. I think this place could do better with the simplest of adjustments. Cleanliness needs improvement (the tables didn't seem to be wiped down), which was a red flag to begin with. The one plus is that the staff were friendly. I won't be returning though.

I like to tell them to surprise me. I have always loved everything they make. Also everything is always fresh.

Great customer service, however, more than likely cross contaminated the food, causing extreme food poisoning.

Overpriced! I had 8 piece basic California roll for $13+tax At lunch! No complaints about the roll just feel like the prices at this place is pricey. Please update your website to show exact menu prices.
