They do a hard inquiry for a simple checking account, which affects your credit score negatively. They use chexsystems if anyone want to know. If you have poor or bad credit skip this place. If you have no credit history skip this place. Even if you have only "good credit", skip this place. Unless you have excellent credit be ready to waste time and be declined. Another place you could try is BBVA if you're looking for simple FREE checking account for deposits and keeping your money safe. This is an otherwise decent place for those looking for simple banking. But they do lack information upfront most of the time. When I would ask questions they wouldn't know for sure more than half the time and the other half they we're transferring me over to different people one after the other. Also I wish they would have been upfront about that hard inquiry. Most banks I've been to in regards to checking only accounts rarely do credit checks related to them. Since I wasn't opening a line of credit or taking out a loan. Weird.
