Sears Garage Door Installation and Repair

EXPENSIVE!!! Sears Garage Door installed my garage door a little over 5 years ago and the plastic weather seal got damaged over the years, so I decided to replace it. Between Home Depot and Lowes, I couldn't find the one that fits my garage door -- it has to be a specific one to fit-- the price range was between $18 and $25 for a two-car garage seal. I called Sears Garage thinking they could have the seal since they distribute the doors; Leslie helped me, she said records indicated my door had never been serviced since it was installed, and it would be good to do a tune up for $199-- a special price, the regular is $250 for tightening bolts and screws and adding oil here and there. She also said at the time of the tune up I would pay for the seal, that she could not give me a quote because only the technician had the price. Being aware of the price of the seals I assumed it was not going to cost me an arm and a leg.  The day came and the technician arrived to do the tune up and gave me the quote to get and install the weather seal, he said it was going to be $139... $139 for the piece of plastic that goes at the bottom of the garage door!! I understand labor is expensive, but people are getting very creative these days to make money. Since the "expensive" weather seal did not fit he gave me a discount and charged me $119 for the seal. Sears Garage are not the builders of the garage doors, I'm sure the plastic can be found elsewhere but they are monopolizing this item to charge customers outrageous amounts of money.

Highly recommend the Troxels at Sears Garage Solutions for anything you need regarding your garage door. They gave me a call prior to arriving and were on time. They did a terrific job and were very polite...their great customer service is always a plus.

As soon as we closed the garage door we heard a loud bang. The spring broke in two pieces! We called Sears Garage Solutions (searsgaragedoors.com) and Leslie sent a repairman (TJ) to our home in less than an hour. Both Leslie and TJ were helpful, informative, and very understanding about our situation.  We felt a strong "Customer first" motto.    Carol Y.
