American River Tax Services

I was actually really excited to come here. Our friends and mother in law had said great things. I felt that they tried very hard to maximize our deductions. Here we are though 2 weeks or so later and they still have not submitted our taxes. I've called several times, my husband has called and emailed and they still haven't been submitted.... I'm not sure if it's cause we're new clients or what but I would at least expect a call back letting us know the status. I have a feeling we're going to have to go somewhere else to get our taxes re-done. I definitely would not go here if you are looking for a timely submission.

I’m DONE doing my taxes here!! I wish I could give negative stars. I’ve had not so good experiences in the past (4years) mostly with how they just tell me when my appointment is and don’t ask me when will work for me but I’d try to make my schedule fit the appointment. Again this year they couldn’t accommodate my work schedule and no other appointments available and said I could mail in my tax info and it would be the same.. wrong!! I mailed it in, called numerous times to get a date on when my paperwork would be processed and I kept getting voicemails. Finally spoke to someone and they could just tell me something was missing, not what, just something. That I needed to talk to my prepare’s assistant. I was upset because if I was missing something why wouldn’t they call/email me and let me know, why do I need to call them!? There was one time I called and Stacy (my preparer’s assistant) said she didn’t take calls until after 9:30am, it was 9am. I asked to get a call back at that time. Never did. Started blowing up their phone and surprise, no answer. When I finally go a hold of her she said she called me and left me a message, LIES!! I had my phone on me all day so I would not miss the call!! She said anyways your missing so and so. I submitted it. A few weeks later I email Ashley, I think she was the old assistant because she was the only email I had from this place. I asked if my paperwork was submitted because I still haven’t received my return. And to my surprise she responds telling me I’m missing a copy of my drivers license, I was furious. Again I had to contact this place to see if my paperwork was finished, and it wasn’t..in NO EFFORTS did they try to contact me to complete and submit my paperwork. So done. They also messed up my sister’s taxes in forgetting to claim her kid and she had the same issue of having to contact them to find out things were missing. Don’t be a new client here, they have taken off more than they can chew and are sloppy.

Sherri has been my tax person for almost 25 years. She has been amazing all this time. I first met her at a Cub Scout Meeting while complaining about how much my other tax professional was not doing for me. She specializes in small business and I know she has saved me tons of money. I will soon be selling, and will reccomend the new owners stick with her. Thank you Sherrie, for your years of service. We will have only one more tax season to go. Then retirement for me.
