Great builder, we have built two houses with this company. From conception to completion, easy to work with and reliable every step of the way. Currently living in one of these upscale homes since 2007. We did have one issue, leaking windows, due to the error of a subcontractor who is no longer in business. Story Construction stepped up and fixed the problem at their expense with no questions asked. They obviously stand behind their work and we would use them again on our next project. Judging from all their new current builds in El Dorado Hills, the word is out how good this company is.

BUYER BEWARE! I recently located to El Dorado Hills. I purchased a home 8 months ago and it is in fact, the one pictured here, in the web site. I have had nothing but structural problems with this home since I moved in. I hope that the Story Construction will take care of my pending issues. The home is cracking in the ceiling, window frames, floors and the interior walls have clear visual seperation. My exterior marble tiles are 70% cracked. The stucco is cracking on all parameters of home. The ceiling on my exterior deck is getting so bad I am afraid that when the cracks reach the external outdoor fan it may fall out. All external doors have diagonal cracks stemming from the corners. The fireplace is splitting in the grout. I am very suspicious, when I bought the home it was flawless, FLAWLESS, no visible signs of erosion. The first time I took a bath now the faucet will not stop dripping, and the shower has been regrouted 4 times in the floor, and it keeps seperating. My back splash in kitchen, bathroom and laundry, I have had to regrout three times. When I had to start touching up the grout, I started taking notes-logs, of changes. Why was the house flawless when it hit the market? ( No coincidence I am afraid, they have a close personal relationship with the previous owners). This home had to have been prepped for resale. I am awaiting an appointment with them and the engineer. Can you imagine what this home will look like in another 8 months at the rate its is eroding? No one in the surrounding neighborhood has this happening, it is isolated to this structure. A house does not erode this quickly, I have kept a log since I have been re-grouting, I walked the home and in the last week, I have 11 new cracks. Please respond if you have any additional insight on this contractor and may know anyone in this area that may be facing my dilemma. I dont think blaming Mother Nature is going to fly with me, a home should endure the 4 seasons.....
