Lisa is an accomplished educator and singer who has taught my child how to make the most of her voice as well as some music theory to help her understand how musical compositions and parts work. Lisa provides what I would call a "strength based" approach to singing. Helping you find your voice, pick the right songs for it, and then stretch.:) She has a keen ear/eye for what you are doing and then helps you improve.My wife and I have been with her for a several years . Its a great treat for both of us as we improve our duet. You won't find better teacher!:)

If I could give Vocal Stylings more than 5 stars, I would. Both of my children have taken lessons from Vocal Stylings, and my daughter also participated in the kids' summer workshop. Not only is the vocal instruction of the highest caliber, but what makes Vocal Stylings unique is owner Lisa Cushing's unerring ability to fashion engaging lessons to meet the specific needs of each student. I enthusiastically recommend Vocal Stylings to anyone who has a serious interest in singing.

I am a contemporary Christian singer, and when I started out in this career, I was doing a lot things with my voice incorrectly. Thus, I was having a negative effect on my voice, such as straining to sing high notes, and as a result, by the time I completed a few songs, my voice would start getting hoarse. I phoned Vocal Stylings and I spoke to Lisa. What an awesome lady and teacher she is. Lisa understood what I was doing wrong and worked with me teaching me various vocal techniques to not only to save my voice, but to also gain the confidence I needed to nail a performance. Now, through the exercises she taught me, and her tutelage, I also have the confidence knowing that my voice will be there, to do what I need it to do, when I want.
