Marin Joe's will remain a forever mystery. The parking lot is always packed, the dining room always full with more diners waiting for a table at the bar. I finally decided to give it a try, got in all excited, thinking I was finally in the sanctum santorum, entering a place of tradition, good taste and excellence. I'll end the suspense there, to say it was a cruel disappointment would still be an understatement We got sat in the "Redwood room" probably given that name because the room, the floor, the decor, the table and the chairs are as old as redwoods The veal piccata was laughable at best, but actually quite depressing : A pink piece of sponge dumped into a swimming pool of weird tasting liquid (that they call sauce), next to some uninspired dry spaghettis in a second swimming pool of cream. The caesar salad, made me hope that Julius Caesar never ate that much garlic for Cleopatra would surely have ran away screaming. In a last and somewhat nave hope, I thought maybe people come for the wonderful Italian inspired desserts, and suffer the garlic and the swimming pools, because the desserts are worth it. Cruel disappointment, the tiramisu likely stopped in Tchernobyl on his way from Italy, he lost half of his body, while the other half barely tried to hold itself in the plate while trying to pretend it still was a tiramisu
