Too many things went wrong. For starters, I asked him not to paint the interior, because I could do that myself. He went ahead and painted it anyway (a really ugly color), charging me some $2,400 in the process. It also cost roughly $3,200 for three full grown me to tile some 200 Sq ft of tiling - other estimates I got were $5 per square foot - $1,000 total. I got charged $2,200 more than average. The septic line was not installed properly according to a plumber I had fix it - anybody weighing more than 100 pounds walking over it will break it. He gives the poise of a senile elderly man, but he is a lying adder that Jacks up the bill every chance he gets. My girlfriend and I caught him lying about people being on the property working more than once - he would always say things like, "you just missed the sheet metal guy", or "you just missed the whatever guy" - even though we had been keeping on eye on the property. I filed a complaint against him with the CSLB. Although it was successful, Teeples did not stop harassing me for more money. The toilet wobbles, the roof has many leaks, there are loose wires in the ground causing outrageous power bills and the work he said he did was never completed. His original estimate for HVAC was $4,500. It ended up costing me more than $10,000 AND WAS NEVER EVEN INSTALLED. He also did not consult with me on a lot of things that were done to the house. My advice is to go with somebody else. He put in a used water heater from the 1990s that is no longer servicable. It took 3 full grown men 3 days to put up doors (costing more money) The receipts he gave me included many tools and other things that were NOT used in this project. He put in an obviously used shower stall that he either found or had laying around and charged me money for it. I also spoke with the calaveras county building commissioner's office, and they said the amount he charged me for blueprints seemed SERIOUSLY excessive. He did not stick with the plans I gave him anyway. Everything with him was a constant argument - right down to the carpet color. It is almost like he was jacking up the bill to a ridiculous extent so he would end up owning the house. Again, I cannot stress this enough, go with somebody else. Even his estimates of when the house would be finished were way off - costing me to waste 5 vacation days at work. When he said it was finished - it was not - there are no kitchen countertops, no heating and no air conditioning.
Go with somebody else.
