Great service for my child!

Yesterday was our 1st Speech Therapy class with our youngest son of 23 months. Leading up to our first appointment, Lorena coordinated everything for me to make things less overwhelming. I already started with a good and positive vibe with Lorena. She answered many of my concerning mommy questions to allow me to feel at ease that our little MJ would be one on one with a speech pathologist and a bonus we also had an intern work with him. Last night we worked with Erica and Sarah and it was like watching a different little boy light up and just want to engage in everything and yearned for applause! We worked "B" and "W" sounds that kept my son engaged. This morning when I played the bubble song, he sang the, "bop, bop, bop!" part. I praised him with saying "good talk." Something I took away from watching Erica and Sarah work so kindly and lovingly with my son. We are looking forward to our next classes the next 8 mos! Stay tuned for updates on our progress!

My daughter began feeding therapy with Judy and her amazing team. Judy listened to my concerns and individualized a plan to fit my daughters needs. Judy took us from getting my daughter to tolerate foods on her plate, touching her mouth, to tasting, chewing and swallowing. Judy didn't just push forward with one specific tactic she modified things as needed to create a successful experience for my daughter. A bit of history for you on what Judy was starting with, my daughter was born with a cleft lip and palate and terrible re-flux with projectile vomiting this led to oral aversion. We had to have a g-tube placed at about 4 months of age. Multiple surgeries to the area for repair caused even less interest in having anything by or in her mouth. Judy and her staff were a great support and their willingness to communicate with my daughter's other care providers made the process easier. As a parent I remember feeling so frustrated when it felt like my child wasn't progressing like the other children her age. Judy listened, gave suggestions and made sure we kept things engaging for my daughter. My daughter is doing well and less dependent on her g-tube. We are working towards weaning her completely. She now has the mechanics down and views food, even new food in a positive light due to the therapy received. I know some people won't understand how much progress we have made but those with children struggling to eat will understand how much success we have found.Thank you, Judy and staff for everything you have done.

We have been very pleased with the services we have received from Jewett and Associates. My son enjoys learning from the staff there. My son loves pokemon and one of the SLP went out of her way to bring  her own collection from her childhood to show to him.  Miss Rachel is also one of our favorites she is just excellent all around and my son truly loves her! Judy was awesome too, she was very thorough in her approach and was good about utilizing and managing the time we had well. I appreciate her ability to have my son work hard while still making it fun.

Wasn't thrilled with this service. I wanted to find a good place my daughter could get help with her minor shuddering when school was not in session.  They asked about doing an assessment and never disclosed the cost for it!   Not to mention the test they did was completely wrong! They ended up cutting the cost in half BUT they completely misdiagnosed by daughters speech problem.  Very Upset!!!   My daughters therapist at her school was shocked they even came up with everything they did.  I also had  asked if they could bill our insurance so I didn't end up with a huge bill if my insurance did not cover. They didn't bill until 8-10 appts later and I ended up with a HUGE bill.  I would never recommend this place!  This was a huge mistake and didn't accomplish anything!  Waste of money.
