I really love Dr Butz but something has changed and I've haven't been able to see him for an in person appt in 5 months. The telemedicine calls are never honored. And I can't get records or referrals. It makes me sad because he's really a good doctor. I can't discern whether it's his office staff or if he's MIA. But it's unacceptable. Guess I need to find another Dr and it won't be in Chico. I hear Yuba City has a good doc for these issues.

I am no longer satisfied with Dr. Butz after almost 10 years.. pharmacy said my next refill will be 3/30/24 and there was nothing on file. I don't think Doctors staff can count to 30 because 30 days starting 3/2 is 3/30 and they said 30 days from 3/2 is 4/2.. not only problems with my medication but also with my referels now.. apparently it now takes 2 weeks for someone to call in a referral no matter how much pain you're in. Besides that Doctors new staff makes everything difficult for the patients. .. They use to send my medication to the pharmacy before I left Dr office so I can pick them up on my way home.. now I have to go home, passing the pharmacy on the way.. I now have to waste fuel I can't afford to go back to the pharmacy and pick it up later.. I no longer feel like I am getting proper care at Doctor Butz's office 95% because of his inept staff who thinks they know more than pharmacists and Doctors.. If you want sub-par health care than go to Dr Butz office with his disastrous staff that's screwing up his entire business and name.. waiting 6 days for a referral to Neurosurgeon to have a consult and Surgery. My pain is getting worse and I'm losing my ability to walk. The Neurosurgeon hasn't received any referral for a consult so I can have surgery to remove my pain... I call and leave messages and nothing

Staff told me taking up her time; my husband can't be released unless the doctor but to no avail.works with us. How dare your staff tell me i waste her time; beyond cruel. I want to speak with doctor

I have been looking for a pain management doctor for more than 8 months. I could not have been happier than to have met this doctor and his staff. The doctor took his time, listened and was very respectful, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. The staff also was very friendly and helpful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would gladly!!!

The biggest problem is this clinic doesn't have enough doctors to properly treat anybody. It can take upwards of three months to get an appointment. Wait times are insane & I once waited over 4 hours past my appointment time to be seen. Communication issues here are crazy bad. Getting ahold of anyone is almost impossible unless you go in to speak with somebody. Staff is regularly unreachable by phone and they do not call back when they should, if at all! Medication prescriptions are almost always messed up and they are not quick to fix them, nor do they seem to care if there's a mistake. Dr. Butz is a very nice and knowledgeable person, but he doesn't correct his employees' shortcomings. I'm not even sure he understands how bad his clinic has become this past year. Until major changes are made, I can't recommend this place to anyone.
