AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

Do not take your car here!! Jeff the owner of the Canoga Park AAMCO is a poor representation of what AAMCO is supposed to stand by their work and honoring their nationwide warranty if you had work done by them. I had a re-manufactured transmission with a 36 months/100,000 limited mile warranty installed in my car on 2/1/19 from another AAMCO shop located 60 miles away from the Canoga Park AAMCO. Unfortunately, the transmission that was installed completely failed while I was driving it on 4/17/19. Since Jeff's shop was the nearest AAMCO, I placed a call to him letting him know the condition of the car being a danger to drive and about my warranty and if I can bring the car to his shop. Jeff rudely implied that I need to take my car back to the AAMCO who originally fixed the transmission and that my 36 months/100,000 miles nationwide warranty only applies within a forty mile radius from the original shop who did the work on the car and if I bring the car to his shop the car will not be seen and worked on and that I need to get a hotel room to stay overnight. I then called the AAMCO shop who did the original work explaining the current situation about the car and the agent that I was speaking with said they already know what is going on with the car becasuse Jeff was already on the other line making sure that the owner of the AAMCO who did the work on my car will pay him for any work that will be done if I happen to decide to take the car to his Canoga Park shop. Then to top it all off, I was told to drive a completely dangerous unsafe car back 60 miles to the AAMCO shop who did the original work without being offered a tow and then when they finally authorized me to take the car to Jeff's Canoga Park shop and then to be turned away by Jeff when I arrived at his shop at 4:50pm before his closing time of 5pm and be further told by Jeff that if I leave my car on his premises he will have my car towed and he will call the police on me for trespassing. Furthermore, if there were a zero rating on here, Jeff Canoga Park, Ca AAMCO shop would have gotten a big fat FAIL!! PLEASE use CAUTION when deciding to take your car to AAMCO to have work done because they do not stand by their 60 years slogan of doing dependable work and honoring their nationwide limited warranty they advertised.

Got my vehicle serviced here, excellent customer service. Jeff was extremely courteous and professional. Shop was very clean and organized. They did a great job, I will definitely come again. Thank you!

I give them 3 stars because they made right what they wronged. But they wronged huge.

While I assume the service I received will be adequate, care was not taken in replacing screws and push plugs which hold the bottom cover on. I appreciate that the service was completed after closing time but I was there waiting, too. I would have gladly waited longer for the cover to be replaced in the condition I brought it in. The reason for delay given was that the wrong parts were delivered. However, I was warned that wrong parts might be sent and precautions should have been in order. I will secure the push plugs and screw and replace them myself.
