DO NOT TAKE THE YELLOW CAB FROM SFO AIRPORT. Take uber/Lyft even it's more than Taxi.
I decided to take a taxi (because Uber/Lyft came out to be expensive) when I landed at the San Fransico Airport on Dec 27th late evening.
First Driver: a Chinese descent driver ( I am Asian myself) - he missed the exit on our way to my destination; when I said I shouldn't be paying for the missed exit if we are using the meter. He was upset and said that I needed to learn more about Taxi and dropped me off at the airport. shocking.
I complained to a guy who arranged the Taxi for an arrival passenger outside the airport who said he doesn't believe the Taxi driver misses the exit and points to the uber pick-up. He said I always needed to write down the address on a piece of paper and handed me a pen and a paper. Another (2nd driver) taxi driver (young African American) was listening to our conversation.
2nd driver said he would take me and pulled up his Taxi a little further as other taxis lined up. He came to me, took my baggage and we left the airport. when we were in highway I asked him why the meter was not running. He got mad (not sure why) and said, "you ask too many questions. Is this your first time taking the Taxi?" I said no, I usually take Uber/Lyft, and he said, " if you want, I can drop me off at the airport". He is even worse than the first one. Also, it was a chilly evening, and he refused to roll up the front passenger window. He didn't say a word and overtook the vehicle left and right.
Never again taking the cab in SFO.
