They recalled the unit but failed to offer repayment of the installation as I installed it myself. Their email warned me to discontinue using their unit. For 30 years I had bought Insinkerators without a problem. I trusted the Consumer reports review and bought Waste King...BAD choice on my part.

Bought 1hp model was recalled and companys phone would auto hangup immediately...nice! Junk quality and service

I am having a similar experience with warranty service on my Waste King disposals. Both failed 2+ years into a their 10-year warranties, within days of each other. I can't say definitively that I might not have been partially at fault in how I used them. The written warranty said to go first to the retailer who sold me the units (which I had installed myself). That was Amazon, so I called them. Amazon's response was immediately to set up a three-way call with Anaheim customer service. Anaheim immediately was helpful, so I let Amazon drop off the connection. Anaheim asked me to do some electrical circuit troubleshooting to ensure that the problem wasn't with the electrical supply to the units. With that out of the way, Anaheim's rep asked for the serial numbers, then sent me an email with a case number and the telephone number of a local repair company. I called that company to arrange a service call,. They took my info, including Anaheim's case number, and said they would not do a service call to determine whether replacement is necessary, but would instead just order new units from Anaheim, then set up an appointment to install them. All that calling took about me an hour or so. My conclusion is that Waste King units don't grind on forever, but Anaheim stands behind them when they fail. I couldn't be more pleased.

Anaheim Mnf owns Waste King, the brand of garage disposal I bought 2 years ago. When I looked into a leak a few days ago, I saw I had a problem with the sink flange. I looked to buy one on either amazon or a local plumbing supply. Amazon is where I purchased it from but parts were not sold there or locally, In fact, I could not find the part I needed except at those online stores that take 2 weeks to ship and charge 2-3x retail. I don't know who buys from them but it must be people who don't care about how long it takes or how much it costs... which is not me! So I looked up the warranty. To my surprise, i have a lifetime warranty but I know what that means: limited to manufacturing defects. My hole looked like the installer was using a screwdriver to tighten something, slipped, and punched a hole in it. Lasted 2 yrs though so I don't know. I called Anaheim Mnf where I got my biggest surprise. They didn't ask me how the failure occurred; they just wanted the SN. They weren't looking for excuses to avoid being responsible. They just wanted to take care of me and to do so without wasting my time. The customer service rep was friendly, efficient and just needed my address to send me the part for free including shipping. And she didn't ask me to complete a survey at the end or anything. I said I'd be happy to just purchase it if I could get it local. She said that would be hard (I already know) since they provide replacement parts for free under warranty. No one wants to carry the parts since they can't compete with free. Now if I wanted to pay for labor… but plumber would still have to order the part. No, I'm good with free. Asked if I could have overnighted instead of free shipping. Sure, $20. Less than I'd pay for the part if I had to buy online. Unbelievable. I thought the best customer service was being provided at Amazon, Apple, Google and the like. Honestly, Anaheim is better. On a scale of 5 stars, I'd give them 6 if I could. Truly amazing and memorable!
