La Peer Health Systems

I found La Peer Surgery Center to be a nice, very clean, well kept, efficient facility with a great staff and amazing nurses. The only reason I'm giving four stars is because the anesthesiologist never spoke to me and cut my bottom lip while inserting the tube. Other than that everyone else was great.

If you have a procedure scheduled here you need to force your doctor to book it somewhere else. The staff here are unbelievable. They are extremely rude, unprofessional, and can't handle the simplest tasks. You will also be slammed with unimaginable surprise charges. La Peer is the most sketchy business I've ever come across.

I was supposed to have a procedure at this facility, which was scheduled two months ago. I prepared for it, had someone flown in to take care of my kids, spent money on prescriptions for the procedure, only to be told two days before that my procedure has been cancelled due to a "scheduled OR maintenance". This has cost me not only a lot of money, but a great deal.of stress and anxiety. My doctor uses this facility so I had no choice. I will be taking my business elsewhere altogether, from this facility.

As I sit waiting for my procedure, I decided to write a real time review of this place. My doctor is great; however, the admin for this place are not. Since my doc chose this facility I did not have a choice of where to go. I had a previous procedure in December where they did not tell me about the charges I would need to pay (didn’t even collect day of surgery and just sent a bill). Okay, fine. A miscommunication. I say going forward it would be nice to know up front costs. They said “yes we agree” and we all moved on. Second procedure they make sure to call me to tell me charges. However, after I checked in I am told the charges are almost $100 more than what was told to me on the phone. Since I had to meet my deductible due to the new year this was no small amount and $100 does make a difference. I don’t know why there is such a problem but if you can get your doctor to go elsewhere, do it. While everyone is nice, niceness is not going to pay your medical bills.
