Alice Berkowitz does not recognize Parental Alienation in fact she tried to call my case a hybrid case. She refused to expedite any meetings times and spent a lot of time interviewing me the targeted parent.  She scheduled five or six sessions at $300 and $450 per hour, and only met with me once with my son. This meeting keep in mind, was scheduled during the time that the alienator parent brought my son in to see her first, and then scheduled me at another time to talk with her after she had gotten her head filled with the Alienators poison.  My son was being coached by the alienator (the other parent) too.In fact, Alice was planning to go on another two or three months before she would have another meeting with us. This is not reunification therapy. This is stealing money.Prior to our meetings, my coach and I sat down with her and told her exactly my situation and about my limited financial resources. She told me to fire my attorney and hire the attorney that she felt could do the job. I took her exact advice, spent $15,000 on a new attorney and gave Alice Berkowitz a total of $2,500 in therapy fees. This action was not effective but put money into her associate's pocket too.She told me that my case was an Alienation case and that she was going to get the judge to do a 90-day protective order. As soon as everybody got paid, she turned on me, jumped ship, and got on the same side as the alienator along with the minor's counselor, she chose a side, the wrong side.  I kept trying to let her know the urgency as a hearing was coming up.  She said there's no way we will be making that date. and proceeded to tell me that she was going on vacation as the alienation increased and my son's well being was clearly at stake. She has no experience and actually has multiple negative write ups on yelp about her being a fraud and taking patients money.  From day one I had a very hard time trying to schedule appointments with her. She seemed to always be busy and could never get me in, even though she knew the severity of my case.  Once she had my retainer, she eventually told me nobody really knows the truth we're all just guessing after only having two sessions with my son and then me.The reason why I am writing up this review is because these types of therapists are very harmful to families experiencing Parental Alienation.  She also lied and said that she would help me get the 90-day protective order.  It seemed like she said what she needed to say to get my money, and then turned on me.Alice even recommended to the courts reduced time with my son after only few visits.  She made a mess out of my case in only a few months.  Her actions depleted my limited financial resources, and I was now in a worse situation than when I began with her.  She did all this in only a few months.Once I saw the mismanagement and corruption, I immediately knew I had to do something to get away from her because she was going to send me down a long, dark path that would not be healthy for me and my family.  I do not want this to happen to any other family. Please be aware of Alice Berkowitz. She is supposed to be a forensic psychologist with a PhD.  She is a fraud, and she should be taken off the board of psychology because she does not know what she's doing. I do not want this to happen to any other family. She damaged my case, lied, and lead me to believe she understood parental alienation, in fact she never had the side of the child and inadvertently was a part of abusing me and my family even more.  Please stay away from this therapist she's out of Beverly Hills, California charges an astronomical amount of money and does not have problems with doing zoom calls. Stay away, stay away, stay away stay away. She is a Danger to any parental alienation case.  She also has her picture up on her website that makes her look 30 years younger which is the first indication of her being a fraud. These kind of healthcare professionals are very dangerous to Parental Alienation cases. While I did read negative comments about her on yelp, I ignored them and continued to engage with her anyway.  Another advocate told me not to go with her, because she heard some terrible stories about her as well. I did not listen, and as a result, on the court order, it says I have custody, but because of the extreme Alienation I am not able to see my son even though there's a custody visitation order in place.....I still do not get to see my son due to Parental Alienation My case has gotten significantly worse.  My child is still suffering from Parental Alienation....thanks to Dr. Alice Berkowitz

Stay away from this thing!!! This so called family therapist was a total train wreck! I also filed an extensive complaint with the Board of Psychology.. my kids are not a game Dr. Berkowitz! I made sure my kids never spoke to this thing, she has so many complaints on so many different sites, and her license is suspended to practice family law cases. She never disclosed this information, her assistant confirmed it to me when I came across itShe had the audacity to write a declaration trying to state that I was not willing to work with her. Not only did she lie on this court document: we never ever spoke. She manipulated our family court case and had conversations with our kids father, made appointments with him when I have physical custody, yet when I researched her due to her shady ways.... I found thisPer court documents that are public recordsAlice R. Berkowitz v. Board of Psychology, et al., 18STCP02529Decision on petition for writ of mandate: deniedPetitioner Alice R.
