Hope Christian Stores

I don't know why I kept going back. I guess it's because it was so close to my home, but I finally broke that habit after having to deal with the weird blond that has gained about 187 pounds in the last 2 years and then the little brown haired midget girl is such a jerk. It is really hard to act like a christian when having to deal with these two.. Just thinking of them makes me need to calm down.. I mean, look at my review.. Geesh!

My daughter just shared a story of her recent experience at Hope Christian Store in Bakersfield and it has convinced me that I should never shop at this store. As it is said, often a Christian's actions are the only bible some people will read, if this is so, the owner of this store has written a very sad tale. After hearing a song on the radio that made her realize the distance she had put between herself and her faith, she decided to go to Hope Christian Store and purchased several cd's, three of which she was familiar with the artists, one of which was suggested by the woman working the counter, whom she said was absolutely lovely and helpful. Upon listening to the suggested cd, she returned the same day in an attempt to exchange that one cd for something that more suited her desire for worship music. After explaining the situation and her wish to exchange the cd, a young woman behind the counter rudely told her that she could not return or exchange it. My daughter then asked why this policy was not printed on the receipt, posted in the store, or explained to her at the time of purchase, to which the young woman stated that if she wanted to argue about it she could speak with the owner. My daughter did speak with the owner immediately after who told her in a condescending manner that there aren't any stores where cds are returnable because people just like her purchase them, copy them to their computer, and then bring them back for a refund stating the same reasoning of not liking the music. After being accused of committing this FELONY, my daughter has lost all interest in trying to integrate herself into a community of Christians as she has turned back to the belief that Christianity and religion are a game of profit. I write this in hopes that others will remember that their actions and words have consequences beyond their knowledge, and as Christians it is our responsibility to always reflect the heart of Christ -- especially when you have placed yourself in a position of owning a store that's mission is to uplift those of faith.
