Update Found out Whaley’s Garage is not licensed by the Automobile Repair Bureau (ARB) of California My opinion is Mr Whaley purposely has done this to avoid paying licensing fees and to not have to be held accountable for fare ARB practices applicable to non commercial vehicle repair In fact he mislead me by taking my car in as a commercial account *********** Paul Whaley was quick to ask for a substantial sum of money up front but very, very slow to make any tangible progress. Paul initially was very professional but as time wore on Paul was curt and very defensive. I do acknowledge the tangible things Paul did which were remove hood, remove engine (which by the way was mostly stripped down), make several phone calls searching for parts, and deliver car to new builder. But this dragged on from the beginning of March to the end of June. Paul, as of the beginning of July, is no longer doing the build on my car. Paul did refund me $1,2400 of the $4,000 I gave to Paul, in good faith, at the beginning of March. among other charges, Paul charged me $1,620 for inspection of vehicle and phone calls alone. I believe it only fare Paul, based on his lack of tangible progress, should have refunded me, at a minimum, $2,000.00.
