Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe

This place was great. Thw chicken pot pie was excellent. Our only regret was that they don't serve breakfast.

Went in last night with my wife and kid, after we had gotten our pot pie dinners, we found them to be cold. After we informed our waitress, some other woman came out with a meat thermometer, poking my pie, showing a temp of 122, after i informed her that the pie should have an internel temp of at least 160, she told me i was wrong because then id be "burning myself." I wasnt trying to get one over on a sub par pot pie, with soggy crust, instant potatoes all drowned in cold gravy you can tell was made with a powder mix, with canned green beans. I didnt understand this womans point on coming out from the kitchen with a meat thermometer just to oppose my opinion on cold food

I was staying at a friends house and asked if any of his local places did proper wholesome food and he recommended here! He also said it was family run, which a major plus for me, as I like to support such places if I can. We went along and after a fun chat with the waitress, placed our orders. We had soup and salad for starters, with absolutely delicious bread! Then we had Beef Pot Pie, with mashed potato, greens and thick gravy (Just like back in the UK). I have to say, it was delicious and I never thought I'd be able to have a pie and gravy in the states, like back home. This was all finished with ice-cream and I have to say the Mint choc chip reminded me of the equivalent Viennetta from home. The taste and texture, identical, which was good. Overall, the experience was excellent and the food hit the mark perfectly. I wish we had a similar place back in the UK near me.
