Update: Tomorrow, March 12, Patticakes will serve delicious cakes and pastries for the last time. The space will give way to a pizza joint in June. Fellow customers were teary eyed this morning. I will certainly miss this Altadena institution. This is a great place for cakes, pastries, breakfast and lunch. The old fashion cake and almond chewy pastry are the best! My family has been going here for many years but the place is better with its new owners. Today, we tried the eggs Benedict and bacon quiche for brunch. Both did not disappoint.

I had a gluten free toasted bread egg breakfast sandwich.  The sandwich was great and it came with a side of fried potatoes.  Service was quick and very friendly.  The staff even told me the name of the bakery that supplied the fabulous gluten free bread!

Cashier was super friendly and helpful. Even offer to fill up my water bottle. The pesto chicken and salad are amazing! Only wish that I tipped more! Food : 5/5 | Service : 5/5 | Atmosphere : 5/5 More

3/8/23:  I stopped by on my way to work today, for the first time.  Had a great pastry with coffee.  I complimented the staff, but I thought I heard them tell me "this is our last week".  I hope that means the last week before vacation, and not for good.  In any case, I'll be back this week!.3/14/23 edit:  Oh no, it looks like they are closing, just when I discovered it.  This is from the March 14 LA.EATER.COM:"There's more pizza coming to Altadena soon too, as Prime Pizza is moving into the closed former Patticakes location at 1900 Allen Avenue, not far from Altadena Beverage. There's no official word on timing, but expect it to take a while given the need to flip the space from its previous tenant, which had occupied the address for decades.".Well, if the former owners of Patticakes ever read this: thank you for your excellent products, and I wish you very well.
