This soul food is FANTASTIC! I love this place.. Love it love it love it... The fried chicken puts me into a food happy coma.. I always feel at home here.

My wife and I are retired so about once a month we like to go out for lunch. When I say "out" I mean somewhere away from our home town of Texarkana, TX. Today we went to Mama Max's Diner in Prescott, AR (about 50 miles away). I looked it up on-line and it looked interesting. We drove over and had fried pork chops with purple hull peas and candied yams (sweet potatoes). We each also had one of her chocolate turtles. Everything was wonderful. The pork chops were done just right, the peas were great and the candied yams were better than my grandma used to make (don't tell her I said that if you see her in heaven before I do!!!) I also want to commend the service. Our waitress was wonderful. Greeted us when we walked in and kept up a humorous conversation the whole time. Very friendly folks.
I highly recommend Mama Max's Diner if you like a great homestyle meal. We will be back.
