Moring & Associates

This is by far the WORST of the numerous appraisers I have worked with. They have no concept of the actual value of real estate in Jonesboro nor do they understand the market trends. They have a horrible reputation for putting an extremely low value on properties. They also alluded to the fact that they did not personally like some of the design choices I had made on my house so that affected the value they gave it. They signed up with the bank to do the appraisal then had to be contacted to make it happen. I have been involved in numerous commercial and residential purchases in Jonesboro, this is my first dealing with them. And it will definitely be my last. They also included a picture in my appraisal of a room that is not even located in my house, and then had the nerve to continue to claim the validity of the appraisal. They do not understand proper comps nor do they understand Jonesboro property values. Their appraisal was so off the bank then had to order one, done by a reputable appraiser that accurately reflected the home and its value. If you are having an appraisal done I strongly encourage you to omit them from the list of appraisers you are willing to work with. Please let every realtor and banker you know about their reputation, and their nickname of "deal killers".

Update: After having this review up for a few months, another person at the company sent me an email to try to get this review changed and started the email with such being stated. It was not the person I sent the original request to, and they were not interested in making things right, just having this review changed. The issue still stands that my original email was IGNORED instead of being responded to, and the only reason I got a response at all was because of this review they wanted me to change. I would have been fine with an explanation that they were not doing the estimate, but instead to this day my original email is unanswered, and the review stands. I had a bad customer experience with them. Telling a customer you are doing work for them, asking them questions, then totally ignoring them when they ask questions is not a good way to do business. -- This company was doing the appraisal on a home loan I was obtaining for a new house. First they wanted me to fill out a form for building a house that actually asked for the "Estimate of value including site". I did not have an estimate of value (I thought that was what appraiser were paid to do) but I sent them the other information I had about the house, land, etc and asked them if the information was sufficient, of if they needed any other information. ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. My loan was held up on Moring & Associates, even with the bank putting a rush on the appraisal, No response back from them by email or phone. Later, the bank told me that they decided they did not want to do the appraisal. Be warned, if they decide they don't want to do your appraisal, the seem to have no quams about just dropping you. Very poor business practice.
