I went to this particular center 3x......... But we hardly moved... We did not stretch much at all........ We certainly did not breathe, invert ( be upside down), meditate and/or sweat.....There was no chanting, pranayama (breathing exercises), mantra repetition, eye exercises or positions or bandhas (internal body locks)....... The studio was pretty........The temperature was warm & perfect........The background music was meditative....Classes were small, about 3 to 5 students.... I paid by donation, which I liked.... The students & the teacher were between 60 & 80... But even older people need to stretch, breathe, invert & sweat! But I wanted to adapt & make the most of it.... So I decided I was going to deviate a lil bit from instructor Maggie Burke's instructions & quietly perform some extra stretches while she was talking.... I was all the way in the back of the classroom. But ithe nstructor still got upset & impatient........She stared at me angrily..... How dare I stretch while she was giving her commands & instructions? That's when i decided I had had enough & I left the class........I was getting zero benefits from these classes anyways.... There is too much talking by the instructors..... Alot of talk & no action in these classes..... Alot of detail & reminders to be centered & spiritual, etc............. All this new age talk & instruction is very distracting & grueling...... . It also was very cliquish, uptight & rigid in there, and I was the new boy on the block......... You have heard about the good ol' boys club?......... This was the good ol' GIRL'S club! People were not friendly to me.......... And Maggie Burke is not my GURU. New age talk can fool the beginner, but it will never make you a guru.
