Being a type 1 diabetic for fifty years, I had to fight with Dr, Collins and his staff to have my insulin prescription increased from one bottle monthly. I was going out of town for the weekend and was about to run out. The current prescription was not up for renewal for a couple of weeks. A type 1 diabetic that runs out of insulin will end up in the ER or die. My endocrinologist was aghast when I told her the situation. She wrote me a prescription for the three bottles a month that I needed. I will never understand why I had to fight with Dr, Collins and his staff for what keeps me alive.
