Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel

Clean rooms with a microwave, mini fridge, ironing board, iron, and coffee/tea maker. Very friendly staff. Walkability: Right next to the train station to the Grand Canyon.

My husband and I took our son for the Polar Express in early December. Check-in was busy as expected with the holiday events going on. It wasn't a long wait though and the receptionist was very polite and helpful. The hotel was very beautifully decorated and the lobby was so beautiful. My husband and I had no issues with the beds. They're hotel beds and not everyone is going to like them. The room was a little dirty which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so we really didn't notice until the next day. When getting ready to leave we were looking under the beds to make sure we didn't leave anything and there were several items from other guests under each bed. And part of the bedding (the part at the foot of the bed, I'm not sure what it's called) had what looked like grease stains/marks or something on it. The food at the buffet was okay in my opinion. The Polar Express experience was amazing! The train was decorated so well. It was nice and warm inside. The workers did a great job! I loved that the "hot" chocolate was more like warm chocolate so that my son could drink it right away and not burn himself. My son was a little under two (22 months) and had a blast! The joy in his face and laughter was well worth a couple of very minor "inconveniences".
