If you have lots of time and money, and a soft spot for poor excuses, John's your guy.
He was recommended to our contractor by the general contractor. He took forever to get our plans done. He never bothered to ask our input on the building plans before submitting them for the permit, so the kitchen layout was wrong, refrigerator water line was omitted, dining area was omitted (who builds a home with no place to eat??). He was untruthful about the date he actually submitted the plans to Pima County (the county uses an electronic date stamp that proves he didn't tell the truth). He had the wrong size gas line specified on the plans. He had the wrong R value on the plans, costing us time on the project, plus money for a change order with the county. He didn't bother to let us know that the Manual J had been submitted, so we ended up paying for another one. He didn't bother to forward an email from the fire department that would have let us know that we needed their input before a final inspection could occur (all he needed to do was forward to our contractor or to us, but his excuse was that he was just responsible for the plans and submission, nothing more). He never once showed up at the project to see what was going on.
