My bestie and I took a pre-mother's day trip. Our guided hike with Henry was definitely a highlight. While we could have hiked the trail on our own I always love going with a local and learning more about the area. The pace was perfect, fast enough to get a workout in yet he allowed us to explore and take some photos. Would recommend and book again.

We booked with Wild Bunch Desert Guides after visiting many websites. My husband and I were looking for a nice casual ride and good scenery. We were not disappointed. We were met with by our guide at an easy to find location. Bob had called us prior to our meet to discuss bike size and let us know he would provide everything we needed. When we got there, he was not kidding! Helmets, gloves, backpacks, spf Chapstick, water bottles (new that we took with us) electrolyte solution to add to our water bottles and granola bars. The bikes were in great shape. Our guide Bob mentioned that they were new this year and you could tell they had been well maintained. Bob went over with us what the 3 hour ride would look like and let us know we could stop early if we needed to. To be honest I wondered if 3 hours would be too much. But it was the perfect amount of riding and stopping to rest, drink and talk about what we were seeing. We were not looking for a hardcore fast paced mountain bike ride, although I am pretty sure that could have been accommodated if we had wanted that. It was the perfect ride! Just when I was ready for a stop Bob seemed to gauge that and we would stop, and he would tell us about what we were seeing in the park. His knowledge of the flora and fauna was impressive. He made this ride much more than just a bike ride. I would say that this tour far exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a great ride with beautiful scenery knowledgeable guides and a tour company that adds that extra touch I would look no further. Laurel the owner even called after the ride to make sure we enjoyed our time. A big shout out to Bob our guide for making the day perfect. I had a very unpleasant experience with the owner, Laurel. I am sharing my experience since there are MANY great choices for tours in the Phoenix area. I would not choose Wild Bunch based on how unprofessional and aggressive Laurel was when we spoke. After booking a private bike tour for my family, I called to ask about the bike pedal (cage versus flat) and cancellation policy since my daughter recently sustained a foot injury. Rather than simply answering my two questions, Laurel (who admitted she was not a parent herself) went into an aggressive tirade about my parental decision making abilities. After a few minutes of being judged and demeaned, I cut Laurel off and asked her to please stick to answering these two easy questions and leave the parenting to me. She became irritated and told me she was cancelling my reservation as she needs to make smart business decisions. I am in complete agreement that Laurel should make the best decisions for her company, but I think it is important to treat her customers with kindness and respect.

Wild Bunch Desert Guides is amazing. The owner, Laurel was one of the best owners of a tour company we had the pleasure of dealing with. We had never been to Arizona and not only was she upfront, direct and honest with us on the weather and going out at an appropriate time--she recommended some other companies and we were able to also utilize them. Our guide, Jay, was phenemonal --very professional, fun and knew lots of history being a local for as long as he has been. The pace was perfect, our kids LOVED him and he had special treats at the end for them. We would give Wild Bunch 1,000 stars if we could. Laurel even took the time to come out to the trailhead to say hello and follow up with us after the tour to make sure they had hit the mark. Highly, without any doubts recommend Wild Bunch Desert Guides for mountain biking--for kids especially they really know how to make is safe, fun and produce amazing memories. Thank you Wild Bunch.
