My husband and I had been searching for a reputable GSD breeder for a good while...our longtime trusted vet said she had finally met a breeder that was up to her standards ( our vet has GSDs). Turns out, that was Jon and Audrey of Schönheit German Shepherds. You must be sincere and pursue them ( they get bombarded with calls and inquiries)...but it is definitely worth it. Plus, you want a breeder who is also choosy with the people their pups are placed with... We hit the jackpot with our puppy, who I know won't have congenital issues with elbow and hip defects. That peace of mind is very nice after owning several dogs who had congenital hip dysplasia and displaced elbows. Their dogs are even tempered, protective, sound, beautiful, sturdy, and extremely intelligent. J and A take care of their animals ( we asked to tour their facility at their home and see all their dogs), do not overbreed and are true to the shepherd way. If you don't know, do your research regarding what pink papers are, OFA certification, etc. The more you know, the more you can understand the value in their animals. We've been so pleased with, and are head over heels for our boy. Glad to have found Schönheit.
